Project Description:
This project will research options for replacement of our
current mainframe Virtual Tape Storage (VTS) system. Our current Virtual Tape Storage system was installed in 1998.
Project Status:
A Request For Proposal (RFP) was mailed out
to several Virtual Tape Storage vendors. All of the vendors that responded to the RFP could not
address all of AIS VTS project requirements. The VTS team spent several days investigating an approach
that would address the project requirements for AIS. The solution that is being
implemented is adding more DASD monitoring and changing the Job Control
Language (JCL) in each Proclib member to move VTS files to DASD.
