Issue Tracking System Java Pilot

Project Description:

To create an improved AIS Issue Tracking System that will be rewritten in Java and will include those approved enhancements that have been recommended for the current system.  With the migration of AIS application environment to Java, a rewrite of the Issue Tracking System is being used to further the development of Java skills, validate the Java infrastructure in place and make recommendations to the processes and tools for Java development.

Project Status:

Work continued to perform some high-level functionality testing and to make corrections where defects were found.  A second code review has now been conducted with Tech. Services and code cleanup has been started.  Work began on determining how to handle those errors occurring within the application.  Security at the functional level was discussed the process for performing this was determined.  The method for handling the application time outs was completed.  Research was finished on the help rollover function and this was added to a couple of functions.  Work continued on the User Help documentation.

 

Over the next month our plans are to complete the few remaining items that still need to be finalize as part of the Development phase.  Primarily this includes error-handling, security at the functional level, data conversion, rollover help functions and code clean up.  The application will be moved to Quality Assurance and testing will begin.  Issues will be identified, reported and corrected as part of the QA testing process.  Accessibility will be perform on the application and necessary modifications made.  The User Help Documentation will continue to be worked on as the application is being finalized.
